This Sanctuary is Anywhere
This Sanctuary is Anywhere comprises a series of photographs taken in a piece of farmland turned natural reserve in the Buenos Aires province. Initially an area for the owners to hunt ducks and other animals in the 1950’s, it was later turned into a Sanctuary by the younger generation.
As there are no recognizable references to a particular location in these images, this could in fact be anywhere. Here I am interested in the universality of place and in the idea that any piece of land could be a sanctuary.
These are black and white details of fields, branches and chopped tree trunks, in an aesthetic reminiscent of graphite drawings or etchings, which I then print on varying types of paper.
